Celebrating With The Seniors
Class of 2024 Kaiser High School Senior Luau at the Waikiki Aquarium
Kaiser High School’s senior luau was held on March 2 at the Waikiki Aquarium from six to nine at night. This event aims to celebrate the senior class marking the end of their academic journey. During this time, students could relax in a festive atmosphere, enjoy each other’s company, and reminisce about their time in high school while creating last memories before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.
The venue was transformed into a tropical paradise, adorned with beachy decorations that created a vibrant atmosphere. Seashells, twinkling lights, colorful flowers, and lush greenery were meticulously placed along the tables, bringing the essence of the Hawaiian islands to life.
The Senior Luau saw an impressive turnout, with many seniors attending the event. The venue had long tables filled with various groups of friends at each. When asked about their experience, many seniors expressed their satisfaction. One student described the night as a “chill and enjoyable way to hang out as a class,” while another mentioned how it was a “perfect opportunity to create lasting memories together.”
This event was chaperoned by senior counselor Ms. Ishii, VP Mr. Skoltack, and some of the seniors favorite teachers. This event provided lots of entertainment including a great dinner, live music, student performances, and the option to walk through the aquarium. The student performances were really memorable, with stunning performances by Kaisers talented students, Isabella Torres and Tristen Tsu.
Of course, no luau would be complete without delicious Hawaiian food. The Senior Luau offered a delectable spread of traditional Hawaiian dishes, including kalua pig, rice, lomi-lomi salmon, haupia, and more. Here fellow students Rose-Marie Mullen and Sage Yokoyama say about the food.
Rose-Marie said, “The food was actually pretty good. I felt like I was at a family party.” Sage added, “The food was great. Thanks to all the teachers who helped serve our class!”
The seniors wanted to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers and administrators who volunteered their time to make the Senior Luau a success. Their dedication and hard work in setting up, breaking down, facilitating, and chaperoning the event ensured a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone in attendance.
As the seniors look back on this night, they eagerly anticipate the upcoming Senior Prom at the Alohalani Resort on April 6th. Kaiser High School continues to provide its students with remarkable events and initiatives, creating cherished memories and exciting opportunities for the future. Get ready for what’s to come!
