Kaiser High School has a unique set of students. There are people from all over the world with different interests, futures, and personalities! We decided to interview one of these people and get to know them a bit more. Meet Kyla Vondrus, a Kaiser High School Freshman!
Kyla Vondrus, as stated, is a freshman, and enjoys playing tennis. She has also taken part in archery as a non-school related sport. She enjoys hanging out with her friends during recess or lunch, ordinarily in front of the cafeteria. Unfortunately, she apparently has had hearing impairments as a kid, which still messes with her to this day. While the problem isn’t too big, it has occasionally created minor hindrances in her daily life. Additionally, Vondrus mentions that she’s always wanted to go to a concert, but couldn’t because of entrance costs, and because the place would get too noisy; probably noisier than that of the 2024 Homecoming Assembly, and we know how loud that ended up being… The hearing issues probably wouldn’t help either. We’ll have to hope that the impairments somehow get resolved someday in the future.
Speaking of the future, everyone is going to be different as the future comes around. Similarly, lots of people have changed since elementary or middle school. This is the case with Vondrus. “I have changed a lot over the past few years,” says Vondrus, “I’ve become a lot less of a pushover, and I am very happy with that.” In the coming years, she mentions that she sees herself changing friend groups, doing a lot of homework, keeping her grades up, and playing tennis. As of now, she is content with her life’s current direction. “I am happy with all of these things,” explains Vondrus, “however homework isn’t my favorite.”
Of course, this is just one of many students out on campus! If you find yourself struggling to make some friends, go around and strike up a conversation! You might find out something unexpected about someone! For instance, from the author’s perspective, it was unknown that Vondrus ever took part in Archery. If you specifically talk to a certain group of people only, expand your group and meet new people! They say that time flies by when you’re having fun, and having good friends makes High School way more fun!
A massive thanks to Kyla Vondrus for allowing us to interview her! Without her, this article would not exist.
