Ethan Yang: The student body president at Kaiser High. He has a number of achievements and accomplishments to his name, such as the delegate to the U.S. State Senate Youth Program and the student representative to the Board of Education, just to name a few. He is also an extremely well balanced student participating in school sports and taking the rigorous IBDP program. Yang will graduate from Kaiser high school with many accomplishments. It’s time to learn the secret to his success.

In his freshman and sophomore year, Yang didn’t try his best in his classes. He was playing Brawlstars in the back of his class and not paying attention. “I always thought not trying at school was cool.” One day he met up with a friend who was a senior who was going to Harvard. Yang joked, “I’ll see you at Harvard.” His friend responded with a straight face “Alright I’ll see you there.” From that day this one question was stuck in Yang’s head and became a motivator for himself, “What if I got into Harvard?”
It was at that point where he decided to lock in.

Despite hearing complaints from his friends, he continued to be focused on his goals. “I was very conscious of how much time I was spending on my phone.” He wrote down his goals and plans and watched motivational reels. “If you don’t surround yourself with the right people you have no chance.” Yang created emphasis on doing the hard things. He ran as a junior and he hated running, but once he ran, everything else became easy. He had multiple methods of efficiency and making sure the work he put in every day mattered. “There’s this thing called the law of accumulation which basically means that everything counts.”
One of the most important traits to his success was ambition. He is a firm believer that anyone can achieve their goals if they really want to. If you really want something, then you’ll do everything in your power to achieve that goal. “Like, I really just believe, if you work hard enough and actually want it. A lot of people are like “Oh, I want to do this,” but don’t do anything that you don’t actually want.”
One of Yang’s Favorite memories was during a soccer match against Kalani. “Double overtime we scored the golden goal, we sent them home, and we got our ticket to the states.” He also loved homecoming week.

Ethan Yang has been an incredible president, leader, and a pivotal member of our community. He has made a lasting impact on all of us with his assemblies, words of wisdom, and contributions to Kaiser High school as a whole.
