Sam Lake is a Junior at Kaiser High School who enjoys writing and filmmaking. She was born in New Jersey and raised between Waikiki and Hawaii Kai on Oahu. Some of their favorite hobbies include photography and creative writing. As a member of the orchestra, she is a violinist of seven years and a former percussionist for Niu Valley’s band. Sam enjoys reading spooky stories and studying urban legends from around the globe, along with occasionally indulging in true crime. They want to use journalism to spread awareness of things going around in their community and to interact with other students. She feels that writing is important to spread and share ideas, information, and history between people and that it is a form of art that should be preserved.
