On April 1st, 2026, Kaiser High School hosted their annual career fair in the gym. It was hosted by the CCRC (College and Career Counseling Center), featuring a multitude of exhibitors present, from food to business to medical. Students were able to learn about different career opportunities, part-time jobs, volunteer opportunities, internships and more, while playing fun games and earning prizes, along with being able to sign up for internships and volunteering opportunities.
There were a lot of exhibitors, but a handful stood out to most— food places like Raising Canes, Roy’s Hawaii Kai, and Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant, forces of the US Military like the United States Air Force and Coast Guard, the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, the Children’s Discovery Center, Costco Wholesale and the Hawaii Air and Army National Guard were some of the most popular.

Kaiser Senior Malia Major says, “There are lots of good opportunities. I wish there was more diversity in what they offer, though.”
Mr. Teraoka, the organizer for the career fair, responded to a few questions.
“That was the 4th year that we had a Career Fair since I started in this position in 2020.”, says Mr. Teraoka, career counselor. “The first two years we held it, it was on the Great Lawn. These past two years in the Gym. Gym was to provide a large setting to accommodate many but also because it protects from the many elements of weather that great lawn could not protect students and organizations that setup their booths.”
While certain vendors enjoy coming, Teraoka explains how “-we struggle bringing certain companies and career professionals based on what it is. For example, it is very difficult to bring medical professionals because they are obviously working during the time our career fair takes place. [] The goal is to have it annually, but we hope to make improvements every year to improve the experience for the students and school population.”
At career fair, students got to communicate with those in the workforce, and learn about different jobs while finding volunteer opportunities. They got to play games alongside learning information and gaining access to real world opportunities.
