Class day is an annual event at Kaiser High School; Each grade level participates in a different event. This year’s class day activity for the sophomores was a “waterpark” like day, held on the baseball field. The event was held on the 11th of November, from period 2 until lunch, lasting about 3 hours. The day is full of excitement and class spirit! The sophomore class day is known for its fun atmosphere and engaging activities. It gives students a chance to enjoy themselves outside of the classroom, while still being on campus. This year, the event featured two giant waterslides, tasty pizza, a variety of games, and music.
The highlight of class day was, without a doubt, the two enormous waterslides set up on the baseball field. The slides were a major attraction, drawing the students’ attention to them almost instantly. Keilohi Farrokmanesh states, “The slides were my favorite part of the event because they helped me stay cool, while still being so much fun!” The waterslides were brought in straight from the Oahu Jump Party, ensuring safety to students while still being able to have a great time! You could either slide down solo or race your friends to the bottom of the slide into the pool to see who could be the first to make a big splash!
There was a range of games set up around the field for students to check out. Games like spikeball, volleyball, kickball, corn holes, and other inflatable activities were available for all sophomore students attending the class day! Sophia Jovero says, “I loved playing volleyball with my friends, it’s something I love doing, so being able to do it with the people I’m closest with is so good!” These games encourage friendly competition, allowing participants to show their competitive sides and create memories with each other. The variety of games there ensured that there was something for everyone, whether someone preferred physical activity or something more relaxed.
Music played a crucial role in setting the mood for class day. There was a big speaker, ensuring that everyone would be able to hear the sound being played. Upbeat music was played throughout the day.”I’m really happy that there was music being played, because I feel like without it, the event wouldn’t have been as exciting.” Azuki Kaneko stated. The music also invited people to dance and sing to the songs as well as making it easier for students to connect and enjoy the day together. The playlist was carefully selected to energize the event without overwhelming people.
Overall, the annual event at Kaiser High School is the perfect mixture of excitement, food, games, and fun. It brought the class closer together while providing a day of fun and relaxation from schoolwork. The waterslides offered entertainment, pizza satisfied hunger, and the games offered friendly competition and activity. The combination of all these activities made the event a success and kept a cherished tradition for the sophomore class.
